    Question Pocahantas campsite

Is the Pocahantas campsite still there, just south of the Pinnacle and also south of Windsor Furnace Shelter??????

    thanks!
I hiked that ridge Pop told me not to that morning.
Each time out, I see that same ridge- only different.

Yes, it's there along with the spring. I hiked through there in July and took note of it but didn't stop to explore so I can't offer any real detail.

Last time I was there, a few months ago it was a little messy. My wife and I stopped there on a long day hike and had lunch. We filled up a plastic shopping bag with trash... Also when it is real wet, as it has been, this spot can get a little wet. Not a lot of legal campsites being in the Hamburg watershed. So this is one of your only options. Enough space for a couple tents and a fire ring.

Just don't forget to "look up" before making camp - there is at least one very large standing dead tree in the area!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass - it's about learning how to dance in the rain!
