New NPS Superintendent for the North Country Trail and Ice Age Trail named.

The North Country Trail Association is in the process of welcoming the replacement for our dear friend and long-time NPS Superintendent, Tom Gilbert. Tom retired this past year after long and dedicated service to these two trails. He was a very good friend to all of us involved in building, maintaining and promoting the North Country National Scenic Trail. These are some very large shoes to be filled.

The new Superintendent will assume his duties on January 1, 2012. I'm personally looking forward to meeting him, and working with him in the years to come. Here is the official announcement from the North Country Trail Association web site.
