    Default Convenient NY Exit

Is there a good place to come off the trail between Greenwood Lake, NY and Bear Mountain to get a bus back to New York City? Also is there any lodging between these two places?

Here's a schedule. I'm sure you can find the right fares, etc... on the website.

Actually, I just looked and it's $12.15 from Bear Mountain to NYC. Not bad.

There is the bus at Bear Mountain, that the previous post describes or you can get one before heading into Harriman State Park and Bear Mountain on Route 17.

There is also a commuter train along Route 17 - I don't think it goes directly into NYC but NJ where you transfer to the train for NYC.

    Have a good hike.
