There is a very fine hole, about midway on the handle, that looks like a hairline fracture waiting to happen. Course, it'd end up even lighter then...

Been there; done that. Even looked at a canine toothbrush, but that didn't work.

I can understand that. Clearly, a canine brush would not be optimal on molars and incisors.

Very nice I cut my backpacking toothbrushes in half, but just so that I could be lazy and store it in a sandwich size ziplock bag.

Now the important question, is cutting the handle HMHDI compliant?
    Colorless green ideas sleep furiously.

What you need is on of those jail tooth brushes. A brush and two inches of handle with a spade like end that is gripped between thumb and index finger that cannot be shaped into a shiv.

but you have to order a case of 720, or stop by your local jail booking area.

Could you not just the handle, heat it and squeeze it flat with pliers?

Other than knowing someone in Corrections (on the inside or the outside!), any ideas on how to obtain just one or two of these nifty little jail toothbrushes? I'd really like to have one or two, but can't/wont' buy hundreds for $70 and about $20 shipping. Heck, I'd go $5. I did a quick Google, but couldn't find individual sales. No luck at REI, etc.

It doesn't look very long. I'll let you all know how it turns out. If I like it I just might decide to go the kuxury route and leave it long. Thanks for posting the image. You've got mad skills!

I wonder why nobody ever asks me why I bent the handle on my ti MSR spoon (in case you were wondering, it wouldn't fit into my cookpot).
