Wondering about the older Australian couple

Wondering if anyone knew anything about the older Australian couple I ran into on my 4th day hiking back in March before Neels Gap. They were over here just to hike the AT. I talked to them for a little while as I hiked with them but had to catch back up with my group and didn't see them again.
