Default ALERT! Two Weird Guys on AT - Section 6 - Rocky Run Shelter

Man, had a weird experience the other day on the trail. I went out on a super ultra light trip to test my skills, I didn't even bring my pack I just wore my work coveralls and an orange fanny pack for my 10 essentials. I had a nice hike up to the Rocky Run Shelter but didn't get in until late. I didn't want to disturb the guys that were in the shelter so I just built a fire and sat in a chair to warm myself as I caught some Z's. This weird, paranoid guy in the shelter got all pissy and said "go easy on my firewood, man, that's for my morning fire..." and I was like "tough" but I was just joking of course I was gonna gather a bunch of wood before morning. In fact I wanted to surprise these dudes with some awesome fresh ground Ethiopian Dark Mocha I had bought at The Fresh Market before the trip.

It got weird though, one of the guys got up to pee and was clutching his knife, giving me weird looks and I heard them whispering about bear mace and stabbing something. It kinda freaked me out so I just stayed out by the fire all night. In the morning I was waiting for those guys to get up to make them a killer cup of java for letting me use their firewood but I dozed off and when I woke up they were gone.

The whole thing kinda freaked me out the way they acted towards me. Hope I never bump into those two dudes on the trail ever again.

When we were kids there was a story about a guy coming up to people on the golf course wearing only a jock strap. He asked. "has anyone seen the nude psycho?" I was ten and willing to believe anything anyone told me.

A brilliant post? I don't think so...TyTy is a moron... as none of you were there, and maybe my words didn't exactly paint the best story, it's easy to laugh it off. I'm not amused in the least bit.

Cool your jets, I was just joking. The dude did sound weird. My first thought was it sounded like he got in a fight with his old lady and stormed off to the woods to sleep and worry her or something. Either that or he was a serial killer looking for his next victim and you just didn't fit the profile.

Anyway, was just joking. Didn't mean to offend.

Noah Genda, surely to God this couldn't have been the weirdest guy/person you have ever run into on the trail, a trail, any trail. Surely not.

How many holes do I have drill in my gun to make it ultra light?
