My compliments to the OP on his sense of irony.

I'm glad to see that my sense of humor may not completely alienate me when I finally manage to do my hike! Things that I would say without thought at work have got me disgusted looks and mutters of disgrace when in different company. Apparently exclaiming 'I'm sweating like a rapist' is not the done thing for a young woman who's just been for a run on a hot day in the middle of a packed park.

Perhapse the humor section is where I should post an ad for 'looking for a NOBO hiking partner in 2013' as anyone spending any amount of time with me most definitely needs a sense of humor!

I bet the squealin pig went WEEEE WEEEEE all the way home to explain to his wife its much easier to stay in the safety of his own home where he doesnt have to barter for firewood or ask for permission to come to bed? Ty ty that was truly funny and helped me to recognize I am "hiking" on white blaze way too often.

No telling what you will run into these days. Go by your intuitions either way, I have found. Haven't been on the AT this year, but have run into more wierd stuff this year than ever before here on our trails.

I think i would consider stabbing you if I were chillin in a shelter with my friend and some a-hole with no gear comes along and piles my wood on the fire without asking then doesnt converse but just sits outside by the fire all night long. seriously ur the shelter creep.
