They won't let you leave your car at Mountain Crossings. You gotta park at the Byron Reese Trail head.

Or reverse direction and leave the car at amicalola falls State Park at the south end of the approach trail. Good long term parking area in front of the park office.

Can you leave a vehicle at Byron Reese Trail head for multiple days or do you have to take it all the way up to Vogel State Park? I was planning to leave the vehicle for 3 days.

Wasn't wanting to hike it SoBo, but more and more that is looking like the only option.

You can leave it at Byron Reese for multiple days. Just make sure its in a parking space or you will get a ticket.

you can leave a vehicle at Byron Reece with no problem for several days. Contact mountain crossings or Hiker Hostel for shuttle options.

You can park at BR assuming there is a parking spot to had.

Every time I plan to park there I always have a backup hike planned in case the lot is full. For you, I'd suggest you know how to get to Lake Winfield Scott from Neels and how to hike from there to Blood. Or park at AFSP. Safer parking there anyway.

Based on all the good feedback it sounds like I need to be looking for a shuttle from Amicalola Falls State Park (AFSP) to Neels Gap and will be planning to leave the car at AFSP and hike SoBo.

Thanks again for all the good feedback.

$90 is a pretty good deal. It's only 30 trail miles, but the road miles are a lot longer, and some of it is rough roads if you want to start at the top of Springer. Not a bad idea to call around, but don't be surprised if the rates are similar.

I plan on doing the exact same hike in early april, if you want to split the shuttle cost that would save us both money

I would check with Hiker Hostel I used them this fall. I do not remember what the cost was but L AM SURE IT WAS NO WHERE NEAR THE $90. They will take you all the way to the top you just need to back track 9/10 of a mile to the start. Here is their number (770)312-7342.

Try Ron Brown, he's very helpful and has always been reasonable with prices.
