    Default Tuscarora re-route?

I was on the Tuscarora last week, and it was re-routed in the Sleepy Creek WMA from the ridge of Sleepy Creek Mountain to Third Hill Mountain on the eastern side of the WMA. Some of the new route lies on old trails, and some runs along what looks like recently built trail: fresh blaze paint, loose moss on the trail where the builders dug into the hill, un-weathered flagging tape, and a route that is not on my 3yr old PATC map.

When was the trail moved, and can somebody post a map of the new route?

Grr. Looks like I clicked the wrong button. Let's try this again.

I hiked that section in 2010 on a PATC-led outing. The Devil's Nose area is rather nice, and so I'll have to go back again someday. It must have been finished before then, perhaps 2009 or so. There was a map in the September 2010 PATC newsletter. If you want GPS traces, nearly all of the reroute can be found on these two traces (#1, #2). Free registration or bugmenot may be required.

I forgot to mention. Revisions for the latest Tuscarora South guidebook, at least where it runs concurrent with the Great Eastern Trail, can be found here.
