I know it's a little early in the year but I'm sure some plans are forming.
Who all is planning an E2E in 2012? I know of 3-4 myself included, so who all is going to be out there this year? Should we start a list/roll call?

My daughter and I are trying to see if we can get enough time off (3 to 4 weeks, yeah we're slow) in mid-August to mid-September to E2E. If not we'll probably hike the northern part SOBO down to Maine Junction as we've both hiked the southern part already.
I was planning a Y2K about 12 years ago.
Simple is good.
Hey AndyB...where do you live in NE Ohio. I spend my winters in Richfield, OH.....summers in Manchester, VT. Stop and see us when you hike thru.

Jeff, my wife has family in Richfield, I'm just a little south in Wadsworth. I hope to be able to pop in and say "hi" at least
end july/early aug i think. depends when my cousin is able to go. NOBO
I've circled August 4th as my first hiking day. SOBO......
Sept 4th looks like the day I'll be starting. SOBO
How many monkey butlers will there be?
One at first. But he'll train others.
I'm jealous if you guys doing it in the Fall, that will be great. July 22-23 for me SOBO. Hiking with another forum member. Really looking forward to it
I'm likely to be doing the LT northbound - probably leaving mid to late July.
My son and I will be out for a week or so -- probably App Gap to Laraway, more or less -- on his quest to do the whole thing, but no continuous thru for us. Good luck to all who do.
I end to ended the LT Nobo - it's the best way -- I do understand 10K and other's SOBO though - thru hikers that have recently hiked the AT sec of the trail and want to insure that they complete the terrain north of Rutland / Killington ..... the trail does set up better S-N though - hiking gets harder, more dramatic, scenic, and impressive (above tree line) the further north you get - recommended!
Hey Arron; I went SOBO about 4 years ago and started around the same time as you are planning. I was about 1 week ahead of the foliage change. And that particular time of year there are often groups from private schools or colleges doing orientation. What a beautiful walk it will be.
I wanted to start a bit later but some other stuff won't allow it.

Leaving nobo at the end of August with my wife. looks like we'll be running into a few other forum members out on the trail.
