I put my dog in a sleeping bag all the time, but the product they are describing doesnt sound like a sleeping bag at all. I think that "straight jacket" or "panic attack bag" might be more accurate.

I think it all depends on the size of the dog. That would be perfect for my dog, which is only 9lbs. Plus, it would give me the room back that she thinks she rightfully deserves.

Reminds me when I saw a thru hiker that I knew acquired a dog on the thru and saw him cowboy camping in his sleeping bag. I asked him where was his dog, he lowered the bag enough to reveal that the dog was sound asleep in what I can best describe as a man/dog spooning position.

I don't bring my dogs on the AT - but have backpacked throughout Michigan with them. Both carry a little backpack, containing their own food, a small pad and blanket. Works well without adding weight.

I think the name of the pack is Outbound Hound.
