they make thermoms the with keyrings attached 1"x2" attaches to any zipper pull
Mine has the compass as well. I rarely use a compass hiking as I tend to not get lost, so it's fine for me.

4 in 1 watch with one of the features as a thermometer. No extra gear required to carry either.
yeah we all got the little ones with the compasses on our packs but want one that records low and i guess high temp not just the current temp

I've seen similar thermometers at Target and Walmart, usually in the hardware section.

Yes, you have to have the watch off for 10 to 15 minutes to get an accurate temp.
