    Default Boot / Shoe Sizing

I have finally figured it out. I am going to purchase my shoes for my thru-hike 2 sizes too wide and 4 sizes too long. Here are some of the benefits:

    1. Have enough room and won’t be cramped at all (swelling won’t be an issue)
    b. Easy on and off each and every time
III. When it’s dry will have a place for spare batteries
Four. Because I won’t need more batteries I won’t need mail drops
    V. I can warm food in the shoe miles before I wish to eat
    6. When it’s raining terribly, I will have extra drinking water
Ate. I can suntan my heals on nice days while hiking
Nine. Women and men alike will be really impressed on the trail
    X. And finally, I will always be a little more ahead on the trail than I thought and I will finish earlier than expected

It was a secret and a little tricky, but with the added surface area I would be able to:

    7. Skip or surf across rivers and larger puddles

Do you also wear larger gloves and pad the fingertips?

If you put dehydrated meals in your shoe, it will both heat and hydrate from your sweat as you walk, and then you can eat your dinner out of the boots as soon as you hit camp.

Yes of course! I would heat the ends of the shoe laces, flatten and form a rough spork and have my utensils handy as well.

With 13 wides, I can't do it without severe risk of a Trail name like "Clowny", "Weary Willie" or the like. Although, having a couple of canoes for those pesky river crossings would come in handy.

For all the trail conservatives, you could always just walk on the outer edge of your huge feet.
