Yes to approach trail!
Got $, my gear, ok from my wife, and is it not like life to kick me in the knee. What a string of bad luck, my truck while I was driving it the brakes failed...ok nobody hurt it just scared the life out of me, then with my other vehicle with a week later had a hit and run accident, now nursing an arm injury. So with on top of all of that I have a nationally recognized charity who may want to use my hike to help promote a fundraising event...and needs time to get the plan/print/media/etc. So alas, it looks like 2013 is a no go. It looks like 2014.

I am Starting my NOBO thru-hike on April 10th.
I'm staying at the Lodge in the park with the approach trail on April 9th. Even though I am being driven there I'll likely (on the 9th) hike up from the start of the approach trail to the lodge on that day. Then continue from there on the morning of April 10th.
I'd love to talk with any of you all that are leaving +/- a day or two from my date. I am sure we'll end up syncing up at some point.
I've been told I'm the kind of person that will make you laugh pretty much all day long. So when you get "down" I am sure i'll be able to cheep you up 9as long as you don't mind my crude sense of humor and horrible opinion of the world in general now-a-days)
I have a lot of stories to tell, but I am also a good listener.
My trail name will be AWOL v2.0 or simply 2.0 (Two-Point-Oh) for short.
Nobody can compete with the original AWOL, but my life-story is SO close to his and being a computer geek myself, the "version 2.0" just seemed to fit perfectly!
I have a journal set up at http://www.trailjournals.com/twopointoh
Can't wait to meet everyone! This is going to be awesome!

LOL.
So I noticed that the hiker registry had me listed as two people and now I see why.
The "&lamdba;" is supposed to turn into the symbol for half-life, a lambda (think a stylized "h"). I guess the forum can't parse that code so it looks like two names. Not a big deal, but it's just me going solo. No partner.
Looking forward to the hike. See some of you out there!
Update: AT-Oma - Began my section hike as schedule but slipped and ruptured a ligament in The Smokys. Got off the trail to get medical attention and heal. Will return 3/28. But I will go SOBO (to miss the Springer hordes :-). From The Priest in VA to Springer.
