Default Where will you be a year from today?

Today is 4/24/12. Next year I will have been on the trail 24 days. Hopefully I will be exiting the Smokies, which means I will be stepping on new trail for the first time (I've already section hiked everything south of Davenport Gap).

So where will you be in a year?

On the trail somewhere! No definite start date, but if my daughter is still living in DC area, will stop for her birthday before hitting the trail - March 2. So start will be between March 5 - 7-ish? Hopefully that will put me north of Smokies by then.

I'll be on trail somewhere near you as it sounds like we are starting out at the same time.

On my way down to Day Zero of the PCT! (if it's on the same weekend in April as this year)

Planning to be on the trail myself this time next year. Not sure if my start date will be in March or April. Will be my first attempt at a thru hike!

I'm definitely planning to be on the trail somewhere, and very excited. I'm kinda with Lone Wolf though, who the hell knows? Life changes so quickly. "Wherever you go, there you are."

Retired and putting in more miles on the AT. I will only do about 6o miles this year. Hope for 200 next year.
There are so many miles and so many mountains between here and there that it is hardly worth thinking about

Awesome question. This past month, whenever I get bored at work, I'll open a spreadsheet with AT mileage and figure out where I'll be a year from now. Starting 3/17 and I'm thinking Erwin. Which probably means the one place I won't be this time next year is Erwin!

Three years ago today I was sitting on the front porch of the Hiker's Inn in Damascus, enjoying a gloriously sunny day (not many of them in the spring of '09) and chatting with other hikers as they walked by.

A year from today? Who knows?!

I understand. My family has a history of dying in their 59th year. My grandmother, uncle, father, and brother, all dead at 59. I would be lying if I said that was not weighing on my mind. Next year, when I start my thru hike, I will be 59...
