Default Womans pack on a man

Just curious to see there are any reasons, other than an assault on manhood, that a man can't use a woman's pack.

    If it fits, wear it.

How many monkey butlers will there be?

One at first. But he'll train others.

Depends on the man I guess. I'm a man and measure 38-29-36
Sometimes you can't hear them talk..Other times you can.
The same old cliches.."Is that a woman or a man?"
You always seem out-numbered..You don't dare make a stand.

There was a thread the other day about a sale on sleeping bags. It seems that they were sold out of the $124 model which everyone seemed to want.... but they were not sold out. The had the womens bag in stock. If I needed a bag, I would not hesitate to buy it.. or a pack. But then again, I am pretty secure in my masculinity.

    I use a women's therm a rest - it's pink - perfect length for me. I occasionally use a woman's sleeping bag too.

I have run into womans packs that have a shorter torso length than a similiar mens version. When the pack is worn and the shoulder straps are adjusted, the hip belt was too high.

On some brands, the contour of the hipbelt will give you blisters if it doesn't fit. However, if the hipbelts are interchangeable, simply replace with a man's hipbelt and you're all set.

Some women's packs have a different contour to the hipbelt and shoulder straps. I did use my wife's 55l pack on my first section hike, it was a full lb lighter than the one I owned then. Worked out fine.

That's why he won't post his real picture, if women recognized him from WB, they would hike a little faster!

I saw Spokes in person in 2009 and I am a woman.... Oh, and I know a man who prefers the woman specific straps for ULA packs,. If a man is smaller, I think a woman's pack might be a good idea.
