19 hours and 40 minutes to the AT crossing of I-70 near Frederick, MD from the west side of Minneapolis. Of course, I've already done that section (1979) and only have Maine to go, which is 26 hours by car. Needless to say, I'll be flying into Manchester or Portland and catching a shuttle.

45 miles to Sams Gap, 50 miles to Max patch, 62 miles to Davenport gap, 93 miles to NewFound gap.
It takes me about 1.5 hrs to most anywhere on the AT in North Carolina and the early part of Tennessee. Erwin, Roan Mt, Kincora etc. I'm on the South side of Asheville, so this adds an extra 15 min or so of travel.

Not sure if Franconia Notch or Hanover is closer. Live just north of Concord. It's about an hour and a half either way.

90 miles from my current location but I use to be within 20 miles when I lived in Dahlonega. That's to the trailhead on Springer of course. However, from the nearest road crossing, Woody Gap, I was a little over 13 miles from the AT in Dahlonega.

Different roads will get to different crossings, roughly 80 miles.

It says your from central TX. Just think if you are from west TX, it's about a 1000 miles further
