    Default MEGA Clothing Check

Here's my list of clothing for my MEGA thru hike starting next week. I'm debating whether I should bring another long sleeve shirt

    2 Polyester T-shirts
2 Pairs compression shorts (hiking underwear)
1 Pair Capilene Boxer Shorts (to let the boys air out in camp)
1 Silkweight Capilene Long Sleeve Top
    1 Silkweight Capilene Bottom
    1 Pair Running Shorts
    1 Pair Zip off Pants
    2 pairs hiking socks
1 pair merino wool socks (for camp and sleeping but can also serve as backup hiking socks)
    1 Down Vest
    1 Golite Rain Jacket

I'm going to treat my hiking clothes with permethrin but I don't want to treat my silkweight capilene with it as I will be sleeping in it. I just kinda think one more shirt would be overkill. What do you guys think?

Sounds good. I wouldn't bring another shirt. I'd bring one s/s baselayer shirt to wear hiking, and one l/s baselayer shirt for camp and sleeping. The down vest is a good idea.

After reading more about permethrin I think I'm just going to treat the long sleeve capilene and call it good. The main time I'd ever wear the long sleeve is sitting around camp and I'm thinking I won't regret treating it.

I only bring 1 pair of anything clothing except socks.

This is what I'll be using for the AT SOBO this year. I carried similar stuff on my PCT thru-hike. Depending on weather and where on the trail I am, some may end up in my bounce box for a short while.

    2 pairs hiking socks
1 pair merino wool sleeping socks
    1 underwear
1 lightweight thermal bottom (may change to midweight in fall when it gets cold)
1 lightweight LS thermal top (may change to midweight in fall when it gets cold)
1 hiking shirt (long sleeve for bugs)
    1 convertible pants
    1 rain jacket
1 rain pants/skirt (changing from rain skirt to rain pants in fall)
1 wind shirt (weighs less then 3 oz and I found it to be my goto layer on PCT when temps dropped)
1 lightweight down vest (will change to my lightweight down jacket in fall); only useful around camp and serves as my pillow.
