Default What's the news on mud season?

Aside from Irene damage, I heard rumors that due to a weird winter, Mud Season is over in some places along the LT. I saw the GMC website announcement of Mud Season but no follow up. Any locals or people on the ground (or people better at reading websites than me!) know the status of Mud Season?

Asking this because I want to respect the trail, the work of maintainers, nature, and the rules.

Right on schedual, May has been on the rainy side, so mud season is in full swing right now. Late May and early June is typcially monson season, but the weather is running a couple of weeks ahead of schedual, so if you wait a couple of weeks, maybe it wouldn't be too bad. But this time of year, all it takes is one good day of rain to muck things up again.
