    Default chacos or boots?

I have been debating this issue for the last few months and it has come time to purchase a couple pairs of something and break them in before the beginning of July, going sobo. The thing is that I hike in both down in the south but am not sure how the chacos will be up north. Any suggestions?

I own some chacos and I would not use them for a multi day hike - especially anywhere north of Mass where it's very muddy and/or rocky. I suggest trail runners instead of boots. Maybe switch to the chacos after you get further south.
Pain is a by-product of a good time.
