Finally starting.

I've finally sold my house and taken care of all the fine details so I will be starting my 'flip/flop' thru hike. I catch a train in Charlotte, NC at 1:45am Wednesday 5/30/12 to Harper's Ferry. Spend the night there and take my first steps NOBO 5/31/12. I've waited a long time for this. I look forward to meeting all of you that are already out there. See you on the trail.

Good luck Sir. Take your time on that first uphill off the C&O, and make sure you take the side trail to Weaverton Cliffs at the top for some great views (real short side trail). Also, keep your boots on when you go get water if you stay at the first shelter (7 miles, Ed Garvey or something IIRC), as it is a long way downhill.

Garvey shelter has black widow spider issues so be on the look out. Also check out Annapolis rock - great view, great spring, awesome caretakers ha ha.
