    Question First Aid

I am planning a trip in 2006. I am wondering what I should carry for first aid? Do I need snakebite kits and the like. Any suggestions would be great!

I started a thread a few days back and it got a lot of responses with good first aid advise... worth digging up.

There is another post on First Aid supplies. However, it's your decision as to what you need for supplies. Some go bear bones, and others are fully equipped.

Part of the answer depends on your nature. For example, if you tend to gobble down Vitamin I, then you need to bring along much more than the occassional user.

You asked about snake bit kits. Statistically, snake bits are very rare on the AT. So why bother? Better to bring along knowledge on how to treat a bit.
