you are doing that in a day? or a few days? going down Mansfield is steeper but easier on the knees and shins.

We are going to take our trip real slow, averaging about 10 miles a day because we enjoy lots of downtime and time to enjoy the beauty that my home state has to offer us We're doing it in 4 days 3 nights. Real slow I know...

Weather cooperated nicely. I stayed in the bromley ski patrol building last night listening to it rain dreading trying to hitch into town in the rain and when I woke up it had stopped. Got a lift into town in about twenty minutes. Sorry I didn't get out your way. I opted to stay in town so I could walk around at my leisure. I hear you are booked solid. A hiker at the inn at long trail was bummed he had to stay at the Avalanche because you were full.

Man 10K , your flying. I just made it to Waitsfield today and found a libary. Vermont has eatten the tips of my Leki poles and can't find replacements here in town. Man, this trail is beating me up - glad I'm almost to the "easy" sections! Now for me to find a laundramat and a place to stay tonight!
The AT - It has it's ups and downs...

The mountain goat outfitter in Manchester center has Leki tips. My black diamond tips didn't make it to Lincoln gap either.

    hey 10k

how is the WM Highlite bag working out for ya on this trip? whats' been the nightly low temps? I'm heading up in a couple weeks, starting from Williamstown around Sept 1st on a NOBO e2e and thinking of using that same bag.

The bag has been overkill really. Temps have been in the mid to upper 50s at night and in the 80s during the day. I understand September it cools down a lot so it'll come in handy then I bet.

Slo, after Lincoln Gap it's like a completely different trail from then on. I've went from 15-17 mile days back to the mid 20s since then. 27 yesterday was my longest trying to get set up to drop into MC early so I could make it a near zero day as possible.
