According to a GMC Facebook posting by Roger Crowley: "Nikki Kimball is running the Long Trail this week and is now beyond Camel's Hump area. Her goal is to finish in 4.5 days. A film crew is documenting the ultra-run. Good Luck Nikki!"

Is 10-K still on the LT?

BTW, if I attempted that I would surely win the prize for most falls.

He just left Manch center yesterday so i'm guessing he will finish before she does.

I was staying at Montclair Glen Tuesday night when Nikki came in with her support crew. She started at the Canadian border on Monday, and at Smuggler's Notch on Tuesday. She was heading for a sleep break at Appalachian Gap when she left us at Montclair Glen. Her "pit stop" for a change of shoes, toe-taping, and food took all of about five minutes and then she was off. There was a college group of ten plus five of us other hikers and we all gave her a rousing welcome cheer when she came into camp. If you want to follow the film crew's blog click here:

Apparently she won't be setting the overall supported LT speed record, but was still going for the women's record.

On Tuesday it took me and a friend seven hours to hike from Bamforth Ridge to Montclair Glen (albeit with backpacks) so we were awestruck at the distance Nikki was covering.

Rough - I was at Mont Clair Glen on Tuesday too. I was the last hiker to get there and stayed in the shelter with the college kids.

I saw Nikki climbing up Ethan Allen Mountain right at the 100 mile mark. She was not running. Just hiking fast.

I guess she did not break the record. She completed the LT in 5 days and 7 hours.

5 days and 7 hours - well, at 14 hours per day plus 7, that's 273 miles in 77 hours - 3.5 miles per hour on the LT - pretty incredible since the average end to end is 20-25 days and the fast end to enders do it in 14-16 days - this is sick fast.
