One time I was hiking Denali alone and I decided I wasn't close enough for a good shot of a bear.

In all honesty, how about hiking up and over a bald in the middle of a thunderstorm with lightning and hail all around me.

I'm so confused, I'm not sure if I lost my horse or found a rope.

I can think of a lot of stupid life threatening things I did when I was growing up.... so many, it's a wonder I'm still here. I guess I has to get it out of my system when I was young so I've been more cautious as an adult. Love this thread!!

The only reason some folks get old is because it was not their time to go. I think the stats are that most accidents are brought on by foolish acts...

Since I assume this thread is in reference to the Alaskan bear attack. That photographer was being a moron, no two ways about it, but we're all going to be morons every once in a while, it's just a crap shoot on whether or not we will be lucky enough to walk away and think " well that was pretty dumb.".

I agree with you Sarcasm and we all agree on that but we were thinking that (we) didn't want to be remembered like that, if we all weren't lucky enough to walk away and think "well that was pretty dumb."

Walked across slated sheets of ice on the Huron River in Michigan when you could see and hear the river churning just below the surface, making a shortcut to save about a half a mile hiking up to and over the bridge. You could see the bridge too from where we crossed. Kids.
