    :banana Georgia in December

    I am doing the state of Georgia in December from Winding Stair Gap NC to Amicola Falls State Park and back and i was woundering if you guys would have some reccomendations or advice. Babysh$t101 2012

    you have a great hike ahead of you just remember to take warm clothes and say hi to all the folks at Nels Gap for me they are a great bunch of people. and to WB. RED-DOG

    You can park your car at the hostel and we will keep an eye on it for you, you don't have to stay, we will get you to Wayah Gap, no charge. Steve & Maggie

    only advice is don't bring any Camelbak hydration bladder/hosers in December, they will likely freeze and leak on you. Stick with some other type of water bottle. And be prepared for ice on the rocks, I did Dicks Creek Gap to Winding Stair Gap in mid Dec-2009, and had nite temps in single digits, slick ice everywhere, especially around Albert Mtn.

    have fun, in 3 days I only ran into 4 other hikers, 2 section hikers and 2 SOBO AT thrus trying to finish by New Years.
