Fire put out on Vt's Mount Mansfield

STOWE, Vt. (AP) — Firefighters have put out a fire in steep terrain on Mount Mansfield in Stowe.

The fire started early Monday after winds fueled embers from a campfire above the Long Trail’s Taylor Lodge. The embers ignited dry moss and about two acres of land.

WCAX-TV reports that firefighters continued to battle the fire and were able to extinguish it on Tuesday.

The steep terrain made it tough to fight the fire.

I wish people would just follow the rules... NO FIRES at Taylor Lodge. Would hate to see that place burn down ​again.
