Raleigh, NC - Springer Mt. in late June early July 2013

I am a teacher who is trying to section hike the AT and want to start in late June or early July. I need to get from Raleigh, NC to Springer Mt. and am looking for a ride. Anyone headed that way?

We could probably get you to north Georgia (Hiawassee/Blairsville area) since we go that way about once a month. There are folks that can shuttle you the rest of the way if you get that far. Do you have any specific dates in mind?
