Wow, I may very well have slept in that same barracks! That was were I learned my preference for the upper rack, in case the other guy comes in liquored up enough to barf over the edge.
To be fair, the fire watch was one of the most tedious watches I've ever had to stay awake through.
I was a little too gleeful when I was getting to my last few months of enlistment -- found myself transferred to the fire fighting crew. I kind of enjoyed the school, though. Workin' a hose team can be fun.

A good friend who spent years stationed and deployed at both NAS Sangley Point and NAS Cubi Point had a video shot from the fantail of the last US Ship to leave the PI. The "ladys" were all standing at the pier waving goodbye. Now this guy was a man's man, a retired Master Chief, and he said he cried like a baby, saddest sight he ever saw. So ends all good things.
