Looking to take a 3 day, 2 night trip out of one of the Bryson City entrances this month. Curious if anyone had any thoughts or opinions on either or both of these possible itineraries.
Option 1 (Lakeview Drive)
Day 1 Lakeshore trail to White Oak to Forney Creek to cs #71 (CCC). 5 miles
Day 2 Springhouse Branch to cs #64 (Mill Creek). 7 miles
Day 3 Noland Creek back to Lakeview Drive. 4.1 miles + .7 mile road hike back to car
Option 2 (Deep Creek)
Day 1 - Indian Creek Trail to cs #46 (Estes Branch) (4ish miles)
Day 2 - Indian Creek to Martin's Gap to Pole Creek Rd to Noland Creek to cs #61 (Bald Creek) (7ish miles)
Day 3 - Noland Creek backtrack to Noland Divide down back to Deep Creek (8ish miles)
Would appreciate any feedback/opinions on the trails and campsites (and/or alternative loops). Along with the desire for a scenic hike/campsite, I also appreciate the historical value of certain trails (old homesites, chimneys, walls, etc). So feedback relevant to that on these trails/sites is also valued.
thanks!
