Anyone in the Greater Atlanta area want to carpool to North GA for weekend day hikes

Hi Everyone,

A few years ago, I did a SOBO Maine to Mass. Now, I'm working on day-hiking/section-hiking the southern part of the trail. My schedule's a bit scattered because I'm in grad school atm. Looking for some other women in the Greater Atlanta area who might be interested in carpooling together to North Georgia and eventually--possibly--TN, NC, etc.

What I've done before is just find a good parking spot and then hike abt 10 or so mi out (till I got to the next major road) and 10 mi back to the car. Then, the next time, I would just park at the parking spot that's 10 mi out and so on. I have four months of weekends free (actually Fri-Sun) and I want to make good use of them. I'm flexible as far as days spent on the trail. It's a bit cold outside now but there are some great, cheap hiker hostels in North Georgia.

I'm a slow walker due to a past foot injury, so I'm more in it for leisure walking than racing through the mountains.

Also, I have the 2012 AT Thru-Hikers' manual, but I'm not having any luck finding topo maps for the area.
