    Default Through Hiking Preparations

Does anybody have a comprehensive list of what should be done to prepare for a through hike? I know this may be unique to each person but I just want to make sure i'm not overlooking anything obvious. I've done a lot of the big items such as booking my transportation, acquiring most of my gear, and plenty of exercise. I also have future items on my radar such as putting in my two week notice at work and informing all other close friends and family about my decision. I'm a to-do list maker and want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I start on April 1st. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Neon

Here's a book that goes into great detail (99 cents on Kindle).

And here's an online resource including several lists.

The specifics are different for everybody, but those two seem to cover everything I can think of!

Good luck with your prep, and hope to see you on the trail!

Edited to add: In the "Thruhiking Papers" (linked above), here's the page with the great list of stuff that might need to be thought about ahead of time.
