Exclamation Water Filtration/Purification Question for the AT in CT/NY

Quick question for the group... I plan to be hiking SOBO from Race Brook Falls in MA to the RPH Shelter in NY over the July 4 week... Would Aquamira be fine for water treatment? A lot of times I just brave it and do the bandana filter to get out most of the floaties, but has anyone had or know of any bad experiences on this section of the AT?

Also from you that have hiked it, are the springs/streams reliable in early July?

    Thanks...

Kev ...that's what I used in 2003 and had no ill effects. Everyone's system is a bit difference in terms of tolerance to bugs/contaminants in the water but I used a combination of AquaMira and nothing at all (fast running streams at higher elevations) and did not have any problems.

Don't drink from the Housitonic river, it's nice to walk along but loaded with chemicals.
