Looks good. Lots of little things that could use refining, but you'll figure that stuff out once you get going.

I've got a Sansa Clip+ I'm pretty happy with. Very inexpensive so no worries if I ruin it, can take microSD cards, weighs ~.7oz with the clip removed (actually it broke off...).

Battery life around 15 hours but I've taken steps to get it that long - put on a 3rd party OS (rockbox), keep volume low, select a simple text-based UI (no fancy pictures, etc), set backlight to turn off very quickly. Has radio and mp3. Its internal battery is only ~300mah. I wish it ran on AA instead, but if you're carrying a 9k mah charger around you could literally run this thing for weeks nonstop if you wanted to...

They claim 15 hours, but a lot of people find it doesn't last that long for them. I find that how you use it has a big impact. FLAC files seem to eat up more battery than mp3s, and turning the volume up really kills the battery fast. Also I suspect that the OS it comes with is probably crap, and simply installing RockBox probably helps a lot.

+ on Sansa Clip-I have 450 albums on the thing--but it will only hold 4,500 songs even if you have additional memory-good deal.

With the charger you have, I assume you have an iPhone too? I use my iPhone 4 (in SIM lock) as my camera, Kindle and MP3 player. Hiking the JMT last September, I only had to recharge once and that was with maybe 4 hours a day of listening to music and 45 minutes reading in camp plus maybe 500 photos along the way!
