Solution to cats: Benedryl and Claratin. Hostels are not 4-star accomendations. You really can't be picky on your lodging on the trail. It is what it is.

Peed in shelters. Now did they pee in the interior of the shelter or pee from the platform to the outside.

You need to carry a tent no matter what. You do not want to be caught in the middle of a section with no shelter in bad weather with the next shelter 6 miles away

I have never understood how someone in their 60's could be dumb enough to go hiking without a TENT !!! as for the hostel, its a HOSTEL !!! not the Atlanta Hilton!! when I was there (stayed 2 days) it was clean, and was cleaned both days. I don't think you have any clue what your talking about.

If YOU'RE going to call someone out on their intelligence levels, maybe make sure YOUR grammar is up to par? Just an observation.

As another poster stated, more like unprepared. That doesn't necessarily make someone dumb. OP is, however, from Florida. You know how those people can be. Right Curt? ;-)

Thank you for pointing out my grammar mistake. unprepared is not bringing enough TP, or being lite on food. Not bring a tent is just DUMB.
