I live in Grenada and a friend and I are planning a NOBO thru-hike starting late March 2014. Glad to see another hiker from MS in the 2014 Class. Is your buddy also from MS? You are the age of my son. I am 70 and friend is 65. Keep me posted on your plans. jac

    Trail Name-- OddLot
    Direction-- NOBO
    Date-- March 11
Approach Trail-- Nope. I'll save the miles that don't count for the end. Gotta walk down from Katahdin, ya know...

My brother will be going with me, he has no trail name yet, but as soon as anyone sees him wearing a pair of shorts, it'll probably be 'Sparky'. We both went to ASU, and he's got a big Sparky tat on his leg.

Trail Name: Paws and Gadget Girl
    Direction: NOBO
Estimated Start Date: April 5, 2014
    Approach Trail: No
I graduate next spring with my masters after going back to college as a non-traditional. I was support crew for the Class of 2007 and have been waiting for my own window. Gadget Girl is starting with me but doesn't know if she is in it for the long haul due to some home-front logistics. We'll just have to see how it all works out. 2014 is also the 10th year of my mom's passing and the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Wilderness Act - two things near and dear to my heart. Wishing you all happy trails! Peace & Love. Paws

Trail name: None yet, I'm going to let it come to me.
    Direction: NOBO
    Estimated Start Date: May 20th
Approach Trail: Don't think so, but possibly.
I am hiking the AT with my brother after I graduate with my Bachelor's, and he with his Associate's. We live near the trail in Rockland County, NY, and have long thought about hiking it in its entirety. We decided this may be our best chance to do it, before the "real world" and jobs are a burden.

I hope to be starting, NOBO, no date yet, hopefully Mid -March. Graduating from Grad school and need to take a break before I settle back into life. It is now, or never.
Trail name Speedbump, will be hiking as much as possible with my dog.

    Approach trail is possible.
I live in the Southern New Hampshire area. Looking for others nearby who may be planning this hike too, to start a group, anyone, anyone, Beuller ?

    Trail Name: WeatherGuy
    Direction: SOBO
Estimated Starting Dates: 14 Apr and 24 Jun
    Approach Trail: Who knows
Additional Information: Plan to start SOBO at Erwin TN (14 Apr) and continue to Springer--use as a shakedown hike. Then head to Maine in late June and head SOBO again. If I get to Duncannon I'll have hiked the entire AT. If I get back to Erwin I'll have completed the AT in one year. If I get back to Springer it'll be a thru-hike.

I go to Dartmouth College, and am taking spring and summer terms off to fulfill a 2000 mile childhood dream. Early start date because I need to be back in September for my senior year. I am also a writer, and am hoping to get something out of this; beyond that, I have little idea of what I'm doing but am looking forward to learning on the trail!

I have a good job, very little bills, and a chance to do a thru hike with ample family support. I am young and capable and I can't let this opportunity pass by.

I have a lot of things floating through my head that I feel a good 2,000+ miles could help straighten out. Have a very flexible job I could leave at any time, money to do it, and am not getting any younger! It's time for a grand adventure...
