Default Hammock Gear Cuben Fiber Tarp

Just received my new winter palace Cuben fiber tarp by hammock gear in the mail. I am anxious to get out and give it a try. The weight difference between this and my sil nylon tarp is incredible. Since this is a very expensive piece of equipment and my first piece of cuben fiber gear other than some stuff saks, I am curious as to any tips or advice I need to know regarding the set up, stowage and care of the tarp. Can the tarp be stuffed into its' storage sak just like the sil nylon or should it be folded? I appreciate any words of wisdom from those of you who have experience with Cuben fiber tarps.

I have had the same tarp for a year now. You can fold it or stuff it into its stuff sack, it will fit. When not hiking with it I keep it a larger sack.

Sorry, didn't notice that was the same OP. Clearly a relevant thread for others though.

I am not necessarily a knot nut like some accomplished tarpers but on mine I leave the two ridgeline cords permanently attached and wrapped. I take some caution to tuck them in when folding the tarp.

The rest of the guylines is

6 thin reflective lines that I attached shockcords to to keep the tension on the tarp.

4 mini footlong bungees for the side doors.

    8 titanium sheppard hooks.

Here is a pic frok last weekend and also a pic from 2 weeks ago and one from 4 weeks ago.

I really wanted to buy this tarp, but I needed some other gear to so I went the superfly and a bunch of other stuff. The winter palace is definitely a sweet tarp. From what I've read they take up more space if you stuff them. Apparently they pack down smaller if you fold them up. Hope you enjoy the tarp.

Thanks for the info. I have used a superfly for the past couple of years and it is a great tarp also. I just wanted to lose some weight and at a difference of 11.5 oz. the Cuben fiber will be worth it I hope.
