This is a female Florida Softshell turtle (Apalone ferox). Can you tell how much I trust her?

I know today isn't Turtle Day and this wasn't on the AT, but it was found by a hiker and it was a turtle... Pretty neat find by a hiker who brought his find to the attention of a U.S. Bureau of Land Management scientist. Turns out the New Mexico desert was once not so dry. http://www.foxnews.com/science/2014/...-excavated-in/

Coincidently this is one one of my favorite hiking songs.
One of the few songs I can play on an ukulele.

Crying shame that the Gypsy Joynt moved out of Great Barrington.

They had the makings of an AT institution.

Tell me about it. I have friends that live about 3 streets over and it quickly became a favorite. At least there’s still the Baba Louie’s take-out window.

same with toads, it’s always giggin’ frogs, frog legs, frog in my throat, frogger (boardwalk game) and my favorite “he’s got a tan like a frog” the poor taod is left behind.

That’s only because hypnotoad wants to maintain a low profile.
