Default State of the Long Trail in the Jay area

I was hoping to go southbound starting around first week of June, but with the late snow hanging around I'm not sure this is feasible. Does anyone know how things are at higher elevations? Is the snow gone? is it dry enough? The current weather reports say that temperatures are in the 40-50's on top of the mountains but can't tell what this has done to the snow.

I know about the risks of blackflies and mosquitoes at this time of year. But they can't be any worse than where I live: Killed twenty last night with a one-handed slap to my leg!

    Thanks in advance

I don't have any first hand knowledge but this might give you an idea of the conditions at higher elevations up north.

In the Whites (Liberty Spring Trail) as of last week, the snow line was somewhere around 4300 feet. Jay is another 50 miles north (and west.)
