About 100 miles east of Boiling Springs. I used to live in Philadelphia, now I live outside the city.
There's no reward at the end for the most miserable thru-hiker.
After gear you can do a thru for $2,000.
No training is a substitute for just going and hiking the AT. You'll get in shape.

I used to live about 10 hours from the trail, but I've now moved so I'm I-have-no-idea-how-far-but-at-least-two-days-drive. Moving further from the trail was something I thought about a lot before moving. But, I now live 75 miles from Yellowstone, and am closer to a couple of mountain ranges. It has been a change, but I'm enjoying the area. Pringles

Depends on which way I go - on foot about 2 1/2 miles. By vehicle, about 6 miles. Love where I live <3

I live on Deep Creek which is about 13 trail miles from Clingman's Dome but roughly an hour by car. I'm also about a 20 minute drive out to the Nantahala Gorge.

Just for this winter, about 60 or so miles east of Avon, Virginia. This way I can gather with other AT friends at GreenLife Adventure Sports at 9691 West Broad in Glen Allen. It is much warmer than back home at Sugar Grove.
