Looks like the data books with all the new information have arrived. I just placed my order.

I wonder if the new CT Databook has info about the CDT alternate? Last yr's version was fine as far as being accurate but didn't include the CDT alternate near Twin lakes to Tincup/Cottonwood Pass area. There is a little Nat Geo TI map error showing where the *CT* USED TO GO adjacent top Cottonwood Pas Rd. If you are going SOBO you will not even notice.
Yes it does. That is why they revised it.
I hope to revise my CT guide within the week based on the new databook.

Could someone explain to the new guy what a data book is and how it works?
Data book is basically just a mileage list of points; road crossings, campsites, water sources when scarce. Kinda like readers digest of a trail guide. Where a trail guide will say at mile xxx the trail meet yy trai & twist & climb to the right to saddle of peak a & b....., Data book will state mile mark & say Jct & maybe trail name. With road crossings guide most likely give detailed info what to expect. Data book will give symbols if PO, grocery, laundry, ... are available & approximate distance off trail.
