Hi all, I'm looking for marino wool or a blend of in an over the calf sock. If anyone has a line on such thing. I have lots of them in a crew sock ( 12" tall ) but know otc. There are ski socks but I don't think that is the same thing. I can also find reg. Boot socks but there must be better.
I called both darn tough & wigwam and thay don't have them. Tks.

What are compression socks ? I saw those but I didn't know if that was a bad blood flow type thing.

Compression socks are good if you have varicose veins (aka "venous insufficiency") because varicose veins will give one a tendency for leg swelling.

Some runners like compression socks as they feel good (the runners say its because they "massage" your muscles", I have varicose veins & if your legs swell, they can ache, so these socks keep the swelling down, & help prevent that ache).

Long distance hikers have a tendency for leg swelling from being on their feet for so long (thats why you read lots of them go to sleep with their legs resting up on their backpack).

So if you ALSO have varicose veins & are a long distance hiker, this could really be a problem, on top of another problem.

I see. But thay would be ok even if you don't have a problem. Kind of a prevent thing.
