    got any information or stories about urban hiking or stairtrekking?

    exceptfor the time that I was drunk and spent three days stuck on an escalator,I have no experience in this category.

    Although not exactly the same thing, I do enjoy walking in urban areas just to enjoy the scenery, especially if there is any historic signifigance. I recently did a historic Downtown Tallahssee (I live near Tallahassee) trail. http://imsinter.leoncountyfl.gov/web...oricTrail2.pdf

    I've enjoyed just wandering around various cities I've visited around the world.

    I think it was backpacker mag that did a story on this a while back.

    San Francisco has a lot of good stairways all over the city. When I lived there, I did a group stairway hike and then bought a book so I could seek out some of the hidden places. Lots of fun. There was also a good stairway out of Sauselito that took you up Mt. Tamalpais.
