Need Advice - What portion of the AT to section hike?

Hi,
I'm going to be section hiking from the end of August to the beginning of November? Does anyone have suggestions for where I should go? I was considering either starting or ending at Springer, but don't really have any idea of what the weather would be like.

I can't tell ya where, but my advice would to hike SOUTH, not north. Not based on any experience other than the general weather patterns of North America.

for that time frame, a good section hike would be sobo from Harpers Ferry, you could hit most of the southern Appalachians and the Smokies thru fall color season
