Yah, the gram weenies will probably jump on this. The old one still works well and has 10x's the gallon rating...no real need to run out and buy the new one. I think the major benefit is probably if you're planning on using it as an inline, and the new one is already setup for that.

This is interesting. Just ordered one to try out as I do not have the original one but have always wanted to try it out. The low cost of the mini is appealing too

I called sawyer and they said believe this, that amazon will have them first to sell before any one else including them. Should be available in September.

Sorry about that, I pre-ordered the mini filter from a outfitter. Estimated delivery is mid september.
