    Default Getting excited

I can't wait. I am so excited about starting my hike next year. only 211 more days. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeee!!!!! Who's ready to hike the funk out of some mountains?!
The funniest thing, I think, about the trail, is that I was almost always so inexplicably happy. Every night I had the most bizarrely cheerful dreams.

Hike the funk out of mountains? Is that where hiker stench comes from?
I always know where I am. I'm right here.

Feeling slight pressure to wrap up loose ends particularly securing last of gear and clothing. Planning a week on AT in November to test equipment and skills. Increasing walking up Currahee Mountain (think Band of Brothers) to twice a week in addition to walking daily with pack.

My countdown app says I have 222 days. I was just looking at how I'm getting to Springer. Made me feel all giggly inside.

if you know your date you should contact the hiker hostel in dahlonega and make your reservation now. You're not going to beat their price for an Atlanta shuttle plus its a nice place to stay.

Ha! I totally relate. We have about 3 1/2 months left to go and I have to remind myself to enjoy the present moment constantly since my brain is ALWAYS on the trail.

I just realized today I will have another week of vacation next yr. Was thinking I couldnt do any spring hiking having to save much of my vacation for the JMT later in the summer, but I may be able to get out for a week in the spring after all.

The wife and I are just completing a new smaller house and still have a 4500 square foot house and 27 acres for sale. I told her I can't hike the AT and leave all the yard work for her if the house does not sell. She was adamant about me doing this next year so I just ordered all my new equipment. May I suggest you buy Amazon stock since their earnings will be up this quarter. I am now officially excited about getting some hiking in the Smokies this winter. I will be layed off at the end of March and be on the trail the first or second week of April. Looking forward to meeting you guys and gals.
