    Default Winter Socks

I like Wool socks for Winter hiking. The question is, which one? Ragg Wool, Wool blend or something else. Which one is warmer or last longer?

Smartwool mid-weight merino socks are also good. Rag socks, not. I avoid socks with less than 75% wool.

Fox River makes a solid wool sock, that I bought cheaply at a farm supply store, for a fraction of what the out fitters charge. Probably worth a visit to the farm store for outer wear stuff. I found that sock liners helped keep my feet dryer. The best sock liners I found were Bauer made for hockey players.
