    Hello there and welcome to whiteblaze. I see you're from Wellington. I used to work there at a restaurant called Cobblestones back in the mid '80's. Best of luck on you're thru-hike. You'll find a lot of great information on this site.
    "It was on the first of May, in the year 1769, that I resigned my domestic happiness for a time, and left my family and peaceable habitation on the Yadkin River, in North Carolina, to wander through the wilderness of America." - Daniel Boone

    cobblestones is still there. although now we have all major chains here. w/ the addition of the new wellington regional mall, the widening of 441 to 8 lanes and the immense population boom, wellington is not the small village at the end of the county anymore.

    [QUOTE=BIG L]look. here's the deal. i'm 41. newbee. i am in good physical/mental condition.QUOTE]

    the trail will make you physically strong so don't worry about that. mental strength night be a hinderance to you, the people i know that completed their thru were mentally deranged.

    good luck on your hike aborb the many advices this website has to offer...take a look at the hiking humor forum and read the tread that starts with "thought i'd share this with you..." all those things are true, although some are slightly exaggerated, it's just a reminder that the path is not all lined with roses.
