Default sayings and aphorisms heard on the trail

    some of my favorites:

    "hike your own hike"
    "you're doing it wrong."
after every uphill, theres always at least one more uphill, followed by one or two more uphills, followed by.....
    partly something ,chance of anything.
    "damn you weather!!!"
    embrace the suck.
a body in motion tends to stay in motion,a body at rest tends to stay at rest.
its not about the miles its about the smiles.
its not about the kilometers, its about the smilometers.
    its all good.

    think of any others?

Thumbs down I've already heard that reply so often

That I now ask, "How much further to the [fill in the blank]? And please don't say, 'Not far'."

Then, after someone gives a period of time, I just double that amount of time due to my consistency in hiking half as fast as anyone else on the Trail.
    You could say I'm a half-fast hiker.

The trail provides. I can live on a dollar a day. Do you got any food? How far is it to town?
