wish you had! LOL fwiw, I was active duty Army, June 1976-June 80; 3 years Army Reserves June 1980-83. I was at Camp Merrill for Mtn phase- Ranger school, Nov-76. Coach Lou was flying over us in helos!! I first fell in love with the North GA mountains during that time.... Only 37 years later, and I still get an adrenaline rush stopping at the Dahlonega, GA McDonalds for Egg McMuffins!! We had an R.I. who used to torture us out in the woods by coming out with his breakfast from town (Egg McMuffins), and Ranger students were getting 1 C-Rat per day out on patrol exercises like the ones you hear today near Hawk Mtn shelter. Hoo-yah!

Everyone has some excellent shots. Bwb49---Your pic brings back memories of my 2 years in Panama. I first lived on Albrook AFB and then Howard AFB which is probably where the belong photo was taken.

Here's a pic of me center by a C-130 somewhere near David, Panama 1972.

No, November '76'. Our Marine helo squadron was TAD there for a week to ferry Praha4 and his pals around those mountains. I fueled birds out of a truck. I was driving around one day and all of a sudden I came up on White Blazes!!!!!! I stopped and walked about 15 minutes north, turned around and came back to my truck. The one and only time I've been on the AT in Georgia! I still have those Army issued maps of that area.

    Default Storm--Were you a Seabee?

The Navy blues and the signature make me think you were a Seabee.

One of my sons is a Utilitiesman, currently deployed to Afghanistan. He's running power and pumping systems at a USMC FOB.

My dad was active in the Army and Air Force. Later during the early 60s he was in the Navy Seebees reserves. One time when he was doing one of his reserve assignments he heard some Marines talking saying the ones they really felt sorry for in Vietnam were the Seebees. Being the father of four young children, he decided if you were the one the Marines were feeling sorry for, perhaps (for my mom's sake) he should not reenlist the next time up.
As a very young boy I really did like the Seebees patches he had.
The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

No, I was a communications tech. Always loved the Seebees' motto but never envied their job. Have the utmost respect for them and the seals. Also thanks to anyone who served in what ever capacity, everyone was needed.

Yes Tipi that is Howard AFB, was TDY there when this pic was taken. While I was in the air guard returned to Howard many times, right up until it was turned over to Panama.
